Four best friends, two long-lasting marriages, one sudden divorce.
Whose side would you take?
Dinner with Friends is a contemporary tale of two married couples
whose friendships are put to the test when one couple decides to divorce.
The foursome is forced to question and renegotiate their relationships as
well as reexamine their own lives in the process. “We were supposed to get
old and fat together, the four of us, and watch each other’s kids grow up
…”, one character observes. Filled with poignancy and witty, realistic
dialogue, this modern-day look at love and marriage will strike a universal
chord with anyone who’s ever been in a serious relationship.
Love, infidelity, secrets, mistrust, betrayal. It’s not your typical
dinner with friends.
Dinner with Friends received the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Drama,
the Outer Critics Circle Award, the Lucille Lortel Award and the Dramatist’s
Guild Hull-Warriner Award
