About the show:
First published in 1890, Hedda Gabler has since become recognized as a
classic of drama and realism. The lead, title character of Hedda is
considered one of the great dramatic roles in theatre and has been referred to
as the "female Hamlet". She is seen by some as a feminist heroine fighting
society and by others as a manipulative villain. The play remains relevant
today as it explores the pressures by which society insures conformity to
accepted values and suppresses the individual perhaps to the point of
destruction.

David Fallen is a past artistic director of Elden Street Players. His
previous directing credits at ESP include Hamlet, Of Mice and Men,
and Our Town.
