Production Team Biographies
Emme Lundeen Fallen (Director) has been acting since the age of sixteen and at age
25 directed her original adaptation of Spoon River (TheatreFirst, Chicago) Thirty
years ago this month, she finished a four week run playing "Evelyn" in The
Tenth Man and got married a week later to ESPs artistic director, David Fallen.
Since moving to Virginia from Maine she as worked almost exclusively with ESP, directing Spoon
River, Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf? , Hair, and The Prime of
Miss Jean Brodie. Favorite roles for ESP include "Linda" in Death of a
Salesman (directed by David Fallen) and "Ma Joad" in Grapes of Wrath
(directed by Leslie Kobylinski). She serves on the ESP Board and spearheads the ESP/Realm
for New Works project presenting staged readings of new works by area playwrights.
Les Zidel (Producer) is a founder of both the Elden Street Players and the Council
for the Arts of Herndon. He led the team which designed and implemented the plans for the
Industrial Strength Theatre. He has produced or designed more than twenty productions for
ESP, and currently serves as the Technical Director for the group. This season he lit The
Runner Stumbles for ESP and A Few Good Men for VCP, and will stage manage Our
Town for ESP this spring. His designs are represented by four Ruby Griffith Award
winning productions. Les dedicates this play in memory of his dad who found great joy in
singing the weekly readings from the Torah at his synagogue and in many ways was very much
a tenth man. He wants to especially thank Jay Bradley for giving so much to this show.
Mary Ann Hall (Stage Manager) is celebrating her eighth year with ESP. She began as
assistant stage manager on Murderer, where she got to shed real blood. Since then
she has worked both onstage and backstage. Her favorite shows include Something
Different, Hair, All The Kings Men and Death of a Salesman. When
not doing theater, she is a Girl Scout leader, taxicab driver for Trevor and Sally and
works full time at Hutchison Elementary. Much love to her offstage family and her theater
family.
Jay Bradley (Set Design) The Tenth Man is Jays second production with
ESP, having been introduced to the group in last seasons successful production of La
Cage Aux Folles where he assisted with costuming and constructing the glitzy feathered
headdresses for the Cagelles. Jay has designed both sets and costumes for various
community theater productions, such as The Sound of Music, A Chorus Line, Come
Blow Your Horn, Pure As The Driven Snow and musical-comedy reviews while living
in Japan and Hawaii. In his spare time while working on The Tenth Man Jay is busy
designing costumes for ESPs summer production of Pippin. His true love is
directing and he hopes to stage a production for ESP in future seasons.
Al Fetske (Light Design) is thrilled to be working both ends of the production
spectrum in ESPs Tenth Man. In the research and study of the script while
developing the lighting design, he attained an in depth perception of his characters
David Foreman relationships to the other characters. Al has successfully designed shows
for ESPs Hamlet, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Freedom of the City,
and Ms. Reardon Drinks a Little. He has also been seen in several productions,
among his favorites: Other Peoples Money, Man in the Glass Booth, and All
the Kings Men.
Marti Sikes (Costume Design) has been a costumer for Elden Street Players since
their third production. "Costuming is great! I get to meet a lot of people, dress
them up, send them out to the stage, and hopefully help them to be comfortable all in the
same time frame." It is a fun quick process that when completed there is a great
sense of accomplishment. "Finding or making the right article of clothing, keeping in
mind the styles, fabrics and colors of the day, sometimes proves quite a challenge. There
in lies the challenge - I love it!" Elden Street Players has been very good to me. It
has given me the opportunity to grow, make decisions and enjoy what I am doing. It is a
great place to volunteer your time, talent, and energy. "They are all great people,
who give of themselves continually." Thanks, Marti |
